Medicare Counseling Now Available at the Center for Independent Living

 

 

Incollaboration with the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program(HICAP), the Center for Independent Living now offers Medicare counseling atits offices at the Ed Roberts Campus.  Counselingis available by appointment on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at10am, 11am, and 12 noon.  HICAP Volunteer Counselor Alice Gateswill be ready to assist you.

 

HICAPprovides unbiased information and assistance to those who have questions orproblems with Medicare or related health insurance issues.  HICAP helps Medicare beneficiaries of any agemake informed choices and provides advocacy when their health care benefits andrights are threatened or denied.  HICAP Counselors are highly trained toprovide these services and are registered with the CA Department ofAging.  Services are free of charge.

 

HICAP is aprogram of Legal Assistance for Seniors in Alameda County.   It isfunded by the state and federal governments and administered through theAlameda County Department on Aging and Adult Services.
