Living Well Senior Program

The Living Well Program is funded by the city of Berkeley and provides services and support to senior citizens who are coping with trauma and/or mental health issues associated with acquired disabilities.

Seniors with acquired disabilities are one of the most difficult groups to reach with disability services. It is similarly difficult to intervene with this group’s developing mental health issues related to aging and the traumatic impact acquiring one or more disabilities (such as loss of mobility, vision, hearing, etc.). The intended outcomes of this project are to de-stigmatize the disability, improve mental health and empower participants to make positive attitude shifts through proactive wellness activities, services and support.

Our Living Well Counselor will provide:

  • Weekly workshops
  • 1 on 1 counseling as needed
  • Life coaching through various issues
  • Connections to other community services
  • Information and referrals
  • Collaborations with internal programs to create a full spectrum of services
  • Assistance in navigating different systems( healthcare, benefits, etc)

Living Well Services are provided free of charge. Our participants choose which goals they would like to pursue through attending the workshop and speaking with our counselor, and of course, our consumers may stop participating whenever they wish. Enrollment is a quick and simple process, and we meet consumers at locations that are convenient for them. Spanish-Language services are available.
