"CIL is so successful because it's run by disabled people. Our clients have hope when they see other disabled people managing their own lives.”

Employment
With a staff committed to advancing the goals of the independent living movement, CIL works to give disabled people the tools they need to achieve independence. For many of our consumers, CIL is an essential part of daily life. That’s why we frequently seek talented and energetic people to join us in doing our important work. Internships
We offer internships to students or graduates of a clinical psychology or social work master’s or Ph.D. program. CIL interns counsel adults in individual, group, and family settings. Some of the internship positions provide a small stipend; all offer individual supervision by a Ph.D. We ask that interns commit to one calendar year of work with up to 20 hours per week. This includes consumer hours, supervision, training and record-keeping.To apply for an internship, please send a resume and cover letter to the attention of the CIL Intern Coordinator in our Berkeley office.
